Freiburg (AP) - Borussia Dortmund has never experienced such a setback against SC Freiburg with Christian Streich.

BVB had to admit defeat in front of national coach Joachim Löw 1: 2 (0: 0) on Saturday and conceded the first Bundesliga defeat against Baden after 19 unbeaten games in this duel.

The last victory of SC Freiburg over Dortmund was in May 2010 - before Streich took up his duties.

Wooyeong Jeong (49th) and Jonathan Schmid (52nd) with a double strike let the strong home team from Freiburg celebrate with their goals on Saturday.

BVB goalkeeper Marwin Hitz did not look good on the second goal.

Only top talent Youssoufa Moukoko scored for the guests (76th), who with coach Edin Terzic have to put up with the next bitter disappointment in the fight for the minimum goal.

The targeted Champions League ranks moved further away.

BVB had traveled to the Black Forest Stadium with a clear intention.

The club now wants to "start a series", announced Dortmund's licensed player boss Sebastian Kehl before the game on TV broadcaster Sky: "We now need victories to achieve the goals that we have set ourselves in the league", said the former midfielder.

But nothing came of it.

It started out promisingly.

After four minutes, national player Emre Can slammed the ball into the crossbar in front of Löw.

A few minutes later, Freiburg goalkeeper Florian Müller had to save against striker Erling Haaland (12th).

The favorites remained the most dangerous scenes in the first half, in which Freiburg also had good chances.

BVB goalkeeper Marwin Hitz could only ricochet off a shot from Jeong (9).

After a free kick by Vicenzo Grifo, the deputy of the injured and not undisputed regular keeper Roman Bürki was lucky that Nicolas Höfler was late in the five-meter area (12th).

But after the entertaining initial phase, the game flattened out.

BVB was superior, but there were inaccuracies in the Champions League participant's game.

"Get moving" and "Go on, go on," shouted Terzic.

The BVB coach had changed his eleven in four positions compared to the difficult 3-2 after extra time in the DFB Cup against SC Paderborn.

But even the return of captain Marco Reus and the recovered defense chief Mats Hummels did not contribute to the fact that the guests went into the break with a better return than the goalless draw.

Julian Brandt's long-range shot did not cause any problems for Müller shortly before half-time (39th).

Then it was Freiburg who got off to a brilliant start in the second section.

First it was the South Korean Jeong, who carried out the execution from a good 20 meters.

Then it was full-back Schmid who pulled from the right edge of the penalty area: BVB goalkeeper Hitz was on the ball, but he did not prevent the 2-0.

The Swiss first stayed with his head down on the lawn.

Top talent Moukoko hit the post after an hour - but later, after a presentation by Haaland, he ensured that Dortmund could hope.

The favorite pushed for the equalizer, but couldn't make it.

Moukoko missed the last chance.
