Mannheim (dpa / lsw) - According to the police, around 1200 people in around 600 cars showed up in a parking lot in Mannheim on Saturday at an unregistered demonstration against the corona protective measures.

They wanted to form a car parade, as the police announced on Saturday evening.

The demonstration was dissolved after an order by the assembly authorities of the city of Mannheim and the participants hesitantly complied.

As a result, according to the information, there were isolated, smaller car parades in the city, but these were also prevented.

There have been identity determinations and evictions.

For the police it was a major operation, it said.

There have been at least a double-digit number of advertisements, said a police spokesman on Saturday evening.

An exact number is not yet available because the investigation is still ongoing.

It is about violations of the right of assembly.
