Munich (dpa / lby) - sunny south and cloudy north - the weather in Bavaria this weekend is characterized by contrasts.

Friday will be cloudy and partly rainy in northern Bavaria, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced.

In the south, however, it should be sunny in places.

The temperatures are between 3 degrees in the north and 13 degrees in parts of southern Bavaria.

Saturday brings sleet at higher altitudes in the north of the Free State and it remains cloudy, whereas there are sunny sections in the south.

The maximum values are between 1 degree in the Franconian Forest and up to 14 degrees on the edge of the Alps.

The maximum temperatures on Sunday are between minus one and eight degrees.

Due to the persistently heavy rain of the past few days and the partly continuous melting of snow, several river levels have risen again, as the flood news service in Bavaria announced.

Some districts in Franconia are particularly affected and have already reached reporting levels three or four on Thursday evening.

Overall, however, it is not to be expected that the flood situation will worsen at the beginning of the weekend, according to a report.
