Berlin (dpa / bb) - In Berlin, the number of new corona infections continues to decline.

Within one day, 352 new cases were registered, as the health administration announced in its current status report on Friday.

The day before, 484 new infections were recorded.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 122,225 cases have been registered in the Berlin statistics, of which 110,517 people are considered to have recovered.

So far, 2,453 people have died in connection with the virus.

Most of the deaths (1,064) were in the age group between 80 and 89 years.

On Friday, 35 new deaths were reported compared to the previous day.

The number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week was now 74.4 - after 76.5 on Thursday and 80.6 on Wednesday.

The corona traffic light is still red. From a value of 30 it would jump to yellow, from a 7-day incidence of 20 to green.

The highest incidence was recorded in the Mitte district with a value of 95.4.

Steglitz-Zehlendorf had the lowest value (52.6).

According to the management report, 27.6 percent of Berlin's intensive care beds are currently occupied by Covid 19 patients (352 sufferers).

The Corona traffic light continues to show red here too. At the beginning of January, the value was 34 percent.

A total of 1204 people with the disease are in clinics in the capital.
