The event on the evening of October 22, 2017 attracted a lot of attention throughout the country.

The then 21-year-old man threw so-called Molotov cocktails through a window of a restaurant in Ängelholm.

He wore a flashing waist belt, which was perceived as a bomb belt but later turned out to be a massage belt, as well as a larger knife.

The actions are not considered to have been directed at any particular person, but the purpose is believed to have been to intimidate.

The man had also expressed sympathy for the terrorist group IS.

Violated the reporting obligation: "Get a cold"

He was later sentenced for a series of crimes to one and a half years in prison and deportation.

The man was released from prison in August 2019, but due to the political situation in his home country Syria, the deportation could not be carried out.

Therefore, the Swedish Migration Agency decided instead that the man should report to the police in Ängelholm five times a week according to the law on special aliens control.

But he has not taken care of that, according to a new verdict.

On three occasions last year, he is said to have failed to register.

He himself says that it is because he had a cold.

He is now sentenced to a suspended sentence and a fine.
