The government has commissioned the Chamber of Deputies to pay 13 million to the Gävleborg Region to cover for investments and running costs for the vaccination against covid-19, it is written in a press release.

Johan Kaarme, director of health and medical care, cannot say exactly what these costs are, but he gives examples of some of them:

- It can be about targeted communication efforts and preparatory work, including digital booking solutions.

There are several cost items to cover.

The number of doses a problem

The vaccination in the region is going well, according to Johan Kaarme.

The only concern is the number of doses available, which could have been more.

- We are completely according to plan, but wish there had been more doses.

But it is an issue at EU level, he says.

The support from the government is "welcome", says the director of health and medical care, but he adds that more money may be needed in the future.

- We feel that the state has a listening ear to the regions and intends to help, says Johan Kaarme.
