Landings in Sardinia

The unloading of migrants from Algeria to Sardinia, which began on Wednesday evening, continued throughout the night in small groups.

This morning at 8 the first balance of the carabinieri, who joined them in Sulcis after some reports, is 76 people arrived, including 7 women.



UNHCR, 700 reported to Libya by the Libyan coast guard

"In less than 48 hours, over 700 asylum seekers and migrants were brought back to Libya, as they were desperately trying to save themselves".

The United Nations High Commissioner (UNHCR) in Libya writes on Twitter in reference to the latest interventions by the Tripoli Coast Guard.

"States must urgently provide safe and alternative routes to these deadly crossroads to curb human trafficking," the UNHCR statement concludes.
