Regarding the leave support provided to those who work in small and medium-sized enterprises, Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Tamura has announced that the scope of payment will be extended to non-regular workers who work in large enterprises.

As the effects of the new coronavirus continue to prolong, the government provides 80% of wages as a leave support to those who are not paid the leave allowance even though they have taken a leave of absence according to the instructions of the company. Is limited to those who work in small and medium-sized enterprises, so there are calls for non-regular workers working in large enterprises to receive payment.

After the Cabinet meeting, Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Tamura will extend the scope of the leave support to non-regular workers such as "shift system" and "day labor" who worked at large companies and did not receive leave allowance. I made it clear.

He added, "We have received requests from the ruling and opposition parties because large companies are not targeted. We would like to support people who work in shifts and other work styles where it is difficult to receive leave allowances."

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare says that new support will be provided only to those who have taken a leave of absence after the 8th of last month due to the impact of the state of emergency, and applications are scheduled to be accepted from the middle to the end of this month.
