Bad Hersfeld (dpa / lhe) - In investigations against a total of eleven suspects, the Bad Hersfeld criminal police confiscated more than eight kilograms of drugs.

The officials also ensured various weapons and a low five-digit amount of cash, as the public prosecutor in Fulda and the East Hesse police headquarters announced on Friday.

Two of the suspects are therefore in custody.

This was preceded by searches of several apartments in Bad Hersfeld, Neuenstein and Bebra (Hersfeld-Rotenburg district) and Darmstadt.

The investigators discovered more than eight kilograms of marijuana, hashish, amphetamine and ecstasy tablets.

A large part of the narcotics was hidden in an earth bunker in a forest area near Neuenstein (Hersfeld-Rotenburg district).

It will now be determined whether the suspects may be responsible for further crimes on the basis of the new findings, it said.

A seized alarm revolver and a telescopic baton could already be assigned to a serious robbery in Neuenstein in 2017.

The previous day, the Bad Hersfeld district court had issued pre-trial detention warrants against three arrested suspects - including two men aged 27 and 28 and a 23-year-old woman for commercial trade in narcotics in large quantities.

The two men, who were also linked to the robbery in 2017, were subsequently taken into custody.

The arrest warrant against the 23-year-old was suspended against conditions.

The other suspects were released after police measures were completed, said a police spokesman.
