Regensburg (dpa / lby) - After the acclaimed cup coup against Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln, the football professionals of SSV Jahn Regensburg have to pull themselves up again for a show of strength in everyday league life.

Just four days after winning the last 16 on penalties, the Upper Palatinate team will again be dealing with important second division points on Sunday (1.30 p.m.) from Karlsruhe, who is in good shape.

Jahn trainer Mersad Selimbegovic is excited to see how his players will perform in the wildlife park.

«With such a success you have happiness hormones in your body.

And they produce positive energy.

You can regenerate faster there, »said Selimbegovic.

After all, tiredness begins in the head.

"We just want to try to end this second English week in a row on a positive note," said the coach.

Selimbegovic also wants to find out in talks with his players who has enough strength reserves.

"We'll put together a team that is able to pull the game through completely."

No options are Sebastian Nachreiner, who tore a muscle fiber against Cologne and will be out for up to four weeks, as well as the suspended Erik Wekesser.

“Ten yellow cards are way too many.

He has to work on that, ”said Selimbegovic about the second yellow card suspension for full-back Wekesser this season.

A difficult task awaits Den Jahn in Baden.

"Karlsruhe is the team of the hour, unbeaten in 2021", warned Selimbegovic.

The KSC play courageously, aggressively and quickly forward.

He is also strong at standards.

Free kicks and corners are "a real weapon".

A few hours after the game, the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup will be drawn on Sunday.

They are also looking forward to this at Jahn.

Selimbegovic did not say one of his opponents: "I would be happy if we play at home again."
