Explosives found on an SUV on the border with Switzerland, buildings evacuated

05 February 2021 Explosive was found in an SUV near the Gaggiolo pass (Varese), on the border between Italy and Switzerland. 

Buildings and commercial facilities in the area were evacuated as a precaution, within 500 meters.

The Artificieri intervened on the spot and the Italian police forces are at work. 

AlertSwiss also issued a warning: "Following a police operation, the Stabio customs crossing (both commercial and tourist) is closed in both directions. The affected area extends for a radius of about 500 meters from pass".
