Ali Shadaei worked from home and suddenly smelled smoke.
When he opened the door to the stairwell, the smell of smoke became very strong and he hurried to get the whole family out.
When they got around the house, they saw open flames and billowing black smoke from a neighboring apartment.
In an open window, the neighbor was sitting with a child.
- I saw that he was ready to let the child down and understood that it was life threatening from that height, even though he had first thrown out a couple of mattresses.
So I called him to wait, says Ali Shahdaei.
A moment later, the situation became desperate.
The rescue service had not yet arrived.
Ali understood that he had to try to receive the little boy with his arms outstretched.

The police have previously stated that no person should have received any serious injuries in the fire.
