Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, Atletico Madrid leaders, leaders of La Liga, said he had not received any explanation for Barcelona's decision to let him leave last September.

One of the first tasks of Barcelona's new coach Ronald Koeman at the "Camp Nou" was to inform Suarez that he was no longer desirable to stay.

The Uruguayan international said today that the decision and the way he was informed of it were not perfect.

And he continued - in an interview with Spanish Radio Onda Thero - "When Barcelona informed me that I was no longer in the team’s plans, it was difficult to accept that .. I did not expect it to happen, it was a difficult period, especially the way it was done. Coman called me and informed me that I am not in his plans."

The "pistolero" added that the decision to allow him to leave was not only understood by (Lionel) Messi, but also by many fans. "(FC) Barcelona told me not to go to training, and my response was that as long as I have a contract with you, I will train at Sports City."

He concluded by saying, "The club did not give me any explanation, just inform me that it is the coach's view."

Koeman has said in several interviews that he does not regret letting Suarez go, but the decision appears more reckless given the player's current brilliance.

The 34-year-old striker led Atletico to the lead, 10 points clear of his previous team (second-placed), although Atletico played less.

Moreover, Suarez is the top scorer in the league with 14 goals and is competing with the team at the European and domestic levels as well.

"I did not want to start talking with Atletico and Diego Simeone. Happy with the team's path in the league. We also have the desire to win the Champions League, a title that Atletico has never achieved before," Luzito concluded.
