On Tuesday, three individuals physically and verbally assaulted travelers in a TER on the Cholet / Angers-Saint-Laud line.

At Chemillé station, the attackers prevented the train doors from closing.

Alerted, the train driver went to see what was going on.

One of the individuals then punched him in the chest.

At Chalonnes-sur-Loire station, the gendarmes arrested the three individuals.

The TER was blocked for more than an hour and a quarter, before leaving again in the direction of Angers.

Two other trains were stopped on the same axis.

The Region filed a complaint

In a press release, the Sud Rail union said this Thursday "this train was traveling without a controller in the direction of Angers".

"SNCF management bears a great responsibility for this event," continues Sud Rail.

SNCF management wants to reduce costs under pressure from the organizing authority, which dogmatically opens the TER rail market to competition.

To do this, it is removing staff and today there are more and more TER trains without controllers.

The union asks in particular "that each train be accompanied by at least one controller throughout the

journey, the reinforcement of staff in stations and general railway surveillance".

Christelle Morancais, president of the Pays-de-la-Loire region, said at the end of the day on Thursday that the region (which manages the TER) was going to file a complaint.
