- We suspect that there has been a breach of confidentiality in the preliminary investigations we have undergone, says Stefan Creutz, Deputy Chief Prosecutor at Södertörn's Public Prosecutor's Office.

The several-page report reveals chat information that is compromising for the two lawyers, according to the report, they must have violated the confidentiality rules on repeated occasions.

Among other things, a gang leader in the Vårbynätverket must have been provided with information.

- These lawyers are not spotted yet, but if the accusations are correct, it is harmful for the legal profession as a whole, says Bengt Ivarsson, who until 2017 was chairman of the Swedish Bar Association.

JK does not initiate a preliminary investigation

The Chancellor of Justice, JK, has during the day decided not to initiate a preliminary investigation on the grounds that the possibilities to prosecute should generally only be used when a lawyer has violated his duty of confidentiality by disclosing information through publication or publishing information in the media.

It is now up to the Bar Association's disciplinary committee to decide whether the lawyers should receive a reminder, warning or be expelled.

SVT has sought the two lawyers but neither of them has returned.
