As of Saturday, all adults who want to enter the country must present a maximum 48-hour-old certificate of a negative result on a covid-19 test.

There are some exceptions.

According to the police's spokesperson Ewa-Gun Westford, more police officers from other parts of the country than what is already available here will probably be used to strengthen border controls in Skåne.

The police will need to check arrivals in more places than now.

- We do not have the resources to send straight out but we are used to redistributing and we have to do it this time as well, she says.

Selling at airports

The police organization Europol warns against fraudsters who sell fake covid-19 certificates.

Fraudsters in the UK and France have sold fake certificates at airports, and reports of sales via social media come from the Netherlands.

Ewa-Gun Westford reckons that false certificates will also appear at the Scanian borders.

- We have a very big habit of handling forged documents, she says.

In case of suspicion of forgery, a traveler can be charged for an in-depth check.

The police can also contact police authorities in other countries.
