Erfurt (dpa / th) - Thuringia's red-red-green minority coalition and the opposition CDU have concluded a new stability agreement up to an early state election in September.

The Left, SPD, Greens and CDU announced on Thursday evening after the talks in Erfurt.

The aim of the agreement is to ensure that there is no political standstill in the coming months.

There was now agreement on the mechanism that would continue to allow parliamentary decisions, said the leader of the Greens, Astrid Rothe-Beinlich.

Formally, the agreement would be signed on Friday.

Red-Red-Green are missing four votes for their own majority in the state parliament.

The four parliamentary groups recently agreed that the state parliament should be re-elected on September 26th - the day of the federal election.

The date originally planned was April 25, but this was canceled due to the effects of the corona pandemic.
