Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The hospitals in Saxony-Anhalt have a budget of more than 2.3 billion euros available this year.

A spokesman for the Association of Substitute Funds (vdek) in Saxony-Anhalt announced on Thursday.

Without a psychiatry and nursing budget, there would be a state budget of around 1.81 billion euros.

The Hospital Society of Saxony-Anhalt and the associations of the health insurance funds have agreed on this.

This means that the hospitals in Saxony-Anhalt will probably have around 36 million euros more than last year for treating patients.

The agreed nationwide base rate for the hospitals in Saxony-Anhalt is 3738.74 euros and is around 75 euros higher than in 2020. It forms the basis for billing hospital services using flat rates per case.

In this way, it determines the amount of the prices that the hospital receives for medical services from the health insurance companies and private health insurance companies and thus also the amount of financial volume that each hospital can dispose of.

Based on the expected number of cases, the health insurance companies can estimate their cost development.

In Saxony-Anhalt, over 600,000 inpatients are treated in 46 planning hospitals every year.
