Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Due to the still tense Corona situation, five selected rehab clinics in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will remain replacement hospitals at least until the end of February.
Health Minister Harry Glawe (CDU) announced on Thursday that patients with Covid 19 symptoms that have already subsided and patients with other diseases could be cared for there.
This would relieve the regular hospitals.
In January, 55 patients were treated in the replacement clinics.
"The development of the infection rate in the country is still dynamic," said the minister.

According to the information, the five replacement clinics are the Malchower See Clinic, the Tessinum in Ticino, the Median Clinic Bad Sülze, the Medigreif Park Clinic Greifswald and the Bethesda Clinic Neubrandenburg.
According to the Ministry of Health, 445 people with a corona infection are currently in hospitals in MV.
79 of them would be treated in intensive care units, 63 would have to be ventilated.
The state pays a daily flat rate of 50 euros per day for each empty bed that is available for the patients in the replacement clinics.
