Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - After a strong stock market week so far, investors on the German stock market took it a little easier on Thursday.

In early trading, the Dax was down 0.19 percent at 13,962 points.

The day before, the leading index had just missed the jump over 14,000 points.

The Dax had risen over 14,000 meters several times in the past few weeks, but had not been able to leave this hurdle behind.

The labor market report in the USA for January could provide new impetus.

This will be published on Friday and should be the economic high point of the week.
