Haßfurt (AP) - The musician Angelo Kelly defends himself in court against a four-digit fine for child labor after a tour appearance by his little son.

The Hassfurt district court wants to announce its verdict on February 12, as a spokeswoman said on Thursday.

Local media had previously reported on the case.

The government of Lower Franconia had sent Kelly a fine of 5000 euros in the house.

The accusation: a violation of the Youth Labor Protection Act.

Kelly's then four-year-old son William had been on stage with other members of the family at an open-air concert in July 2019.

The 39-year-old told the "Bild" newspaper: "I would never do anything that would endanger my child's well-being."

Kelly said they have worked well with youth authorities over the past few years regarding their children's appearances.

Because the singer, who already appeared as a child with the Kelly Family in front of an audience, appealed against the fine, the case is now being heard in the local court.
