A second man was arrested Thursday in the investigation into the beheading in Toulon of a man whose head had been thrown out of a window, after the arrest of the main suspect, a naval officer, since hospitalized in psychiatry.

The identity of the second man arrested was not specified by the same source, but according to France Bleu Var, which reveals the information, it would be a homeless person who was in the apartment of the main suspect at the time. of crime.

On Monday, passers-by had given the alert after discovering in the center of Toulon a head cut off in a cardboard box thrown out of an apartment window.

Barricaded at home

Shortly after the arrival of the security forces on the spot, and in particular of a team from the BAC (anti-crime brigade), a man appeared at the window of the apartment, his hands full of blood, prompting the use of Raid police to trigger an intervention.

The suspect had barricaded himself at his home, and the police had to force open his door to stop him.

He has since been placed in a psychiatric hospital.

The terrorist trail was immediately ruled out by investigators.

The victim was said to be one of the two homeless who had been lodged overnight in the suspect's apartment.

An intervention of the municipal police had taken place in the night because of a fight.
