"I will not look for the killer, because I know him, after the assassination of my brother came in a clear time and place." An assassination.

Hours after his disappearance near the village of Al-Adousiya (south Lebanon), Luqman was found in his car a bloodied body, after he had been hit with 4 bullets in the head and one in the back, which shook public opinion, and he revived in the memory of the Lebanese the era of the assassinations after the civil war.

Rasha was the first to raise questions about the reason for losing contact with her brother after leaving the house of one of his friends in Tire district (in the south).

At first, Rasha posted on Facebook in the middle of the night that her brother “has not answered his phone for more than 5 hours,” then wrote that his mobile phone was found in a field on a side road.

Lebanon witnessed a division over the background of the crime, as some considered it an extension of the scenario of assassinating opinion leaders in Iraq, and many accused Hezbollah, considering that Luqman was a "Shiite opposition" for a long time known for his anti-party stances, which led to accusing him at times of "labor."

Who is Luqman Salim?

He grew up in a culturally diverse home in Haret Hreik in the southern suburbs. Some likened him to the "organic intellectual", who represents an advanced state within his community environment, and he was born in 1962.

He did not leave Haret Hreik, so he dared to move inside, and married German director Monica Burgmann, and obtained a degree in philosophy from the Sorbonne University in France.

In 1990 he founded the new publishing house in Lebanon, run by his sister, and is interested in publishing Arabic literature and publications with culturally, intellectually and religiously controversial content.

For example, the book "Where is the error?"

For Sheikh Abdullah Al Alali.

In 2004, Luqman participated in the founding of the "Ummam Research and Documentation" Center near his home in the suburb. It is concerned with creating an open archive of materials related to social and political history, and is working on archiving the memory of the Lebanese war, documenting the file of the missing Lebanese in the prisons of the Syrian regime. He also produced several films with his wife Monica. Linked to Lebanon and Syria “About the massacre of Shatila and Sabra” (1982), “Fights” (2004), “Al-Mujaz” (2009) and “Palmyra” (2016).

Luqman announced several times that he had received a series of death threats, some of which were affixed to the walls of his home, and related to his political positions.

In December 2019, during the protests that swept across Lebanon, his home was attacked, coinciding with the attack by Hezbollah and Amal movement supporters on a tent of activists in Beirut in which he was participating.

Here, Rasha continues her conversation, saying that his assassination is an intellectual and political assassination of a diverse biography that documents memory and records events, explaining that his family expects his death more than 10 years ago.

Rasha told Al-Jazeera Net, "You know that they are murderers, while you are defenseless, you only have your mind and your pen. But he had a fatalistic side that does not care about death, and is preparing to go to the end for his positions."

Rasha confirmed that his family does not want anyone to be charged and that they do not need to go to the courts.

Because for them the identity of the killer is known.

Political and popular interactions

The assassination of Luqman caused a difference in positions on social media platforms between those who accuse Hezbollah of committing the crime, and the party's supporters who reject the accusations as false and political without any physical evidence.

However, the tweet of Jawad Nasrallah, the son of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, in which he said, "The loss of some is in fact profit and incalculable kindness # without_sad", sparked a great controversy, then quickly deleted it, publishing another tweet.

I deleted the tweet that some want to understand according to his taste, knowing that I wrote it far from any news or event and it is a personal thing, to prevent confusion and moral emptiness for some who have become known for their hatred and insignificance in approaching matters.

In the same context, President Michel Aoun asked the public prosecutor to conduct the necessary investigations to find out the circumstances of the crime, and stressed the need to expedite the investigation to clarify the circumstances of the crime and the parties behind it.

The head of the caretaker government, Hassan Diab, assigned the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Mohamed Fahmy, to instruct the security services to expedite their investigations, prosecute the perpetrators, and refer them to justice.

It is not disgusting from the creatures of God, but some of those who chose to deform themselves cause nausea from the tightness of their adherence to the moral bottom ..

These are not qualified for the dispute or dialogue, but the bewildering question: Has the bankruptcy of the American “genius” devices reached this level in order to bet on these peers ?!

The political arena witnessed a series of condemnatory stances announced by various parties and currents.

The Free Patriotic Movement (headed by Gebran Bassil) condemned the crime, calling for "not to be used to stir up sedition."

The Future Movement (headed by Saad Hariri) condemned the assassination of Salim, and warned of the dangers of returning to the series of assassinations and targeting activists.

Former MP Bassem El-Seba said that the assassination "is a direct message to all activists, writers and politicians of the Shiite community, who move, become active and express their ideas outside the political orbit of Hezbollah."

State # Hezbollah

Subjugate the Arab states

With its progressive criminality

And her assassinations that do not tire and do not get bored.

Political Dimensions

For his part, the writer close to Hezbollah, Faisal Abdul Sater, was surprised at the accusations being brought against the party, reminding that the science of criminology must be based on the question “Who benefits from it?” He told Al-Jazeera Net that there are fabricated campaigns led by some media professionals and opponents of Hezbollah to distort its image in various ways. Roads, as they previously accused him of assassinating Hariri and others, as he put it.

"Luqman lived in the home of the resistance environment without being exposed to him, and no one could say that the threats that were reaching him were from Hezbollah," he added.

According to Abd al-Sater's opinion, Luqman did not have any influence on Hezbollah, and he asked why he did not go to the assumption that Israel and its allies were behind the crime to put pressure on Hezbollah in its environment, calling for investigations to wait.

When you conclude the wildly coordinated investment and accusation party,

you will evaluate your results, and you will find them just like their predecessors.

'Big zero'

As you hid in previous experiences, you will be disappointed again, the truth will emerge, even if after a while.

Observers fear that the crime will raise the ceiling of tensions in Lebanon, which is divided by political divisions, and is going through a delicate economic and security phase, and this is what political analyst Mustafa Fahs, who was a friend of Lokman, suggested.

Fahs considers that the seriousness of the assassination lies in his being a real and stubborn political being, who used to date Lebanon and the region on his way, and embody the character of the fierce opposition who realizes the limits of his influence.

Fahs considered that bringing charges is still early.

But he understood it based on Salim's political nature, and he told Al-Jazeera Net that Luqman had a progressive political idea;

Due to his open public relations, he did not rule out that internal and external parties wanted to mix the cards in Lebanon by killing him.

Regarding opponents within the Shiite community, Fahs pointed out that the Shiite environment in Lebanon supports the idea of resistance.

But it is not confined to them, for after the uprising of October 17, 2019, the Shiite environment is no longer what it used to be, and it is now asking, "Where are we heading? Can we fight the world and be hostile to the Arab and Islamic neighborhood? Who can solve our living crises?"

And the analyst considered that fear is haunting all the Lebanese, not just the Shiite opposition, and that Lebanon may have entered a new phase of assassinations, which began with sound words.

"But it will definitely fuel crises, not solve them."
