Third row Gregory Alldritt said on Wednesday he felt "very good" and no longer had pain in his knee, nine days after surgery that could have compromised his participation in the opener of the Italy-France Six Nations Tournament on Saturday.

"There was a risk that it would take longer but everything went as planned and I am very happy," explained at a press point the N.8 des Bleus, who had undergone arthroscopy on Monday 25 January.

Package for the first week of preparation, the Rochelais trained "normally" from Monday with the group of 31 French gathered in Nice.

"I feel great and have no knee pain anymore," said Alldritt, 23, who has 18 caps.

Before the preparation, "he had the honesty to call Fabien (Galthié), the coach, and tell him, so as not to get there by being, I'm not going to say a weight but a player who cannot participate in training, "said William Servat, coach of the forwards of the XV of France.

"Today Greg came back with us, he's doing great. There is no problem," he insisted.

"It was not easy for me to call Fabien (Galthié, the coach) ten days ago but I am happy that it is behind me," added Alldritt for his part.

Galthié must unveil Thursday (12:30 pm) the names of the twenty-three players selected for the duel in Rome.
