Hanover (dpa / lni) - Lower Saxony's Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) wants to find out more about possible uses of corona detection dogs at the Veterinary University in Hanover on Wednesday (10.30 a.m.).

In the summer of 2020, a research team led by the university published a study for which detection dogs of the Bundeswehr had been trained on Sars-CoV-2.

After just one week of training, the dogs were able to correctly identify 94 percent of 1012 saliva or respiratory secretion samples.

Corona detection dogs have already been used at the airport in Helsinki and Dubai, for example.

At the Hanoverian clinic for small animals, it should go to events on Wednesday.
