Activists through social media platforms in Egypt have commemorated the tenth anniversary of the events known in the media as the "Battle of the Camel", which took place on February 2, 2011, and was a milestone in the course of the January 25 2011 revolution, which ended 18 days later with the president's resignation. Hosni Mubarak from power, which he spent 3 decades.

The site bore this name after armed thugs on camels and horses attacked the protesters at Tahrir Square, located in the heart of the capital, Cairo.

As a result, 14 martyrs were killed, and more than 1500 rebels were wounded.

Several interactions emerged through the hashtag “# the camel site,” where Twitter users saw that it was the last attempt by the Mubarak regime to regain control.

Tweeters participated in the events of this day, and some of them recounted how they were able to protect Tahrir Square, stressing that it will always be in their memory.

The account "killed in Egypt" documented the names of the martyrs who died in the battle of the camel, the circumstances of death and the testimonies of relatives, indicating that the killers have not been punished so far.
