Just over a month has passed since the Norwegian population was shaken by the news of a powerful landslide in Gjerdrum outside Oslo.
Seven people have so far been found dead in the landslides and another three people are still missing.
Jörgen Sandman and his wife woke up in the middle of the night to noise outside the home and thought that someone was trying to break into their house.
Just minutes later, the entire home collapsed over them.
- Thankfully for our part, most of the house collapsed away from us and not over us, so we managed largely unscathed.
Afterwards, we know that the house moved about 400 meters, says Jörgen Sandman in Morgonstudion.
Investigating the landslide
During the day, large parts of the roadblocks in the area that previously prevented many families from moving back to their homes are lifted.
- We all have one thing in common and that is we are affected in one way or another.
Many are very grateful and happy to finally be able to come home, others are more reserved and some are afraid to move back.
You have to have an understanding of all those statements, says Jörgen Sandman.

The search for the three missing persons is still ongoing in Norwegian society.
At the same time, the country's authorities are investigating the incident.
- When everything was quiet around us, we sat on top of the pile that was once our home.
We lived on the ground floor, so it was surreal to look down on what we had to look up the day before.
We saw that a road has been built into the area, which means that you are there with work machines and excavators and that you can search for the three people who are missing in a much more efficient way, says Jörgen Sandman.
"Extremely grateful"
Two of the missing lived in the same house as Jörgen and his wife.
- We are extremely grateful to still be alive, but we are also aware that people we knew quite well no longer exist among us.
The most important thing now is that they can be found so that their loved ones can take care of the way we normally do.
