After contact with Sundsbroskolan and advice from infection control Skåne, the city of Malmö has chosen to close the school with approximately 800 students.

- Sundsbroskolan will be closed until Monday, then we will review the absence again and come with information on Monday afternoon.

In the meantime, we want guardians to be aware of symptoms and report their children sick if they show symptoms, says Linda Deltinger, head of education in the city of Malmö.

Linda Deltinger does not want to answer how many of the children have been absent.

Distance learning

The education is intended to take place at a distance for children who go to second grade and up to grade six.

- Those who are younger than that will bring books and information home.

Then the parents can help them as much as possible, says Linda Deltinger.

For those children who have parents with jobs, where it is not possible to work from home, the school is open.

- It is a large school, so we expect that it will be possible to spread out and keep the distances, says Linda Deltinger.

The school lunch will, however, be served as usual, but Malmö municipality recommends that the children have lunch at home if they can.
