Munich (dpa / lby) - It is thawing in Bavaria: Low pressure areas over Northern Europe ensure mild temperatures in the Free State.

The temperatures rise on Wednesday in Kempten to up to 10 degrees, in Franconia up to 12 degrees, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced.

The day starts rainy in the south, at noon showers spread over all of Bavaria, in the evening there can be thunderstorms in Franconia.

In the Alps and in the Bavarian Forest it gets stormy during the day, on the peaks there should be heavy gusts of wind.

On Thursday night the wind continues to pick up.

It remains covered with individual showers at up to 7 degrees in Passau and 9 degrees in Bamberg.
