Gelsenkirchen (AP) - Former national soccer player Shkodran Mustafi said goodbye to his ex-club Arsenal with emotional words.
"Hi Gunners, after four years, 151 games and 2 FA Cup trophies, I wanted to thank the club, the great staff, the fans and of course my teammates," Mustafi wrote on Instagram on Wednesday.
«We have gone through good times and not so good times together, but we have always stuck together.
I've always found it a pleasure and an honor to wear the AFC jersey. "
The 2014 world champion had switched from the English Premier League club to the Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04, which was threatened with relegation.
The Gelsenkirchener had brought the defender on Monday at the end of the transfer period.
But defensive talent Ozan Kabak was on loan to English champions Liverpool FC until the end of the season.
