Tübingen (dpa / lsw) - The Tübingen emergency doctor Lisa Federle has described the plan by Minister of Social Affairs Manne Lucha (Greens) to use rapid tests on teachers, educators and children only if they have symptoms as not comprehensive.

«People with symptoms belong to the doctor.

Rapid tests are intended to fish out people infected with corona without symptoms so that they do not infect others, ”said Federle on Wednesday in Tübingen.

The whole time it is warned that many people are also contagious without symptoms.

«We have to get here.

I expect Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann to speak a word of power », explained Federle.

In the second Corona wave, Federle bought corona rapid tests with the help of donations and has since been offering free rapid tests for everyone in downtown Tübingen.

The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs expanded the campaign to include other cities in the run-up to Christmas.

According to Federle, the project is being imitated nationwide, for example in Reutlingen, Pfaffenhofen or Groß-Gerau.

According to Minister Lucha, teachers, educators and children at schools and daycare centers should carry out a self-test at home if they have symptoms.

If the test result is positive, they should stay away from the respective facility, said the Green politician.

This means that the planned opening of elementary schools and day-care centers after the carnival holidays could be accompanied by an extended test strategy.
