Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Baden-Württemberg's Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) wants to present a concept for a new corona test strategy in the coming week.

"We will make a proposal to you next week," said the Green politician on Wednesday in the state parliament in Stuttgart.

He admitted that there had been "differences in the state government" on this issue.

He did not find the "public accompanying music" good either, he said with a view to the public exchange of blows between Education Minister Susanne Eisenmann (CDU) and Health Minister Manne Lucha (Greens) about daycare centers, schools and the test strategy.

Kretschmann said it was about the question of whether the rapid tests should only be done on an occasional basis, for example in old people's and nursing homes, or whether they should be extended to other professional groups.

Eisenmann had told Lucha last week that there were not enough corona test options, especially for teachers, but also for professional groups such as police officers and supermarket cashiers.

The minister of education also sees the mass rapid tests as an opportunity to reopen daycare centers and schools more quickly.

The head of government said that now you have to consider how much staff you need to carry out more rapid tests - and how much money it costs.
