Amnesty International denounces the recent deaths in Guinean prisons of four men arrested in connection with the protest against a third term of President Alpha Condé, as well as a "wave" of at least 400 arrests since the presidential election in October.

In DR Congo, a supporter of President Félix Tshisekedi, Christophe Mboso, was elected head of the National Assembly, three weeks after the dismissal of its pro-Kabila president, Jeanine Mabunda.

Jean-Marc Kabund for his part was elected first vice-president of the lower house.

He had been stripped of this same post in May by the deputies.
