I am not making a new law, I am eliminating bad policies,

" says Joe Biden, masked, from the Oval Office.

The president wants in particular to take care of the fate

of children separated from their families

on their arrival in the United States.

For this, the first decree provides for the establishment of a working group responsible for finding the parents of hundreds of children whose families have not yet been located.

We will work to erase the moral and national shame of the previous administration which literally tore the children from the arms of their families, their fathers and their mothers at the border, without having any plan, none so that these children who are still in detention can reunite with their families.

 "

The second decree reinstates legal immigration channels suppressed by the Trump administration, and the third provides for facilitating the naturalization of migrants who have been on American soil for many years.

Joe Biden is breaking records with the number of executive orders he has signed since taking office.

But for his legacy to be lasting, he will have to pass laws.

A text on immigration has already been sent to Congress.

But elected officials have not begun to consider it, and it will take the vote of Republican senators for it to pass.

This major reform will be led by its

Minister of Internal Security, Alejandro Mayorkas

, whose appointment was confirmed on Tuesday in the Senate.

He is the first American of Hispanic origin to hold this position.
