On both 13 and 14 January, the school was evacuated after alarms about fires.

The first day there was no sharp alarm but the second day there were two fully developed fires.

- It was a disaster but it could have been an even bigger disaster if someone was injured, says Cecilia Binbach, principal at Karlbergsskolan.

Since the events, the school has worked a lot with education and information, with support from, for example, the police and the rescue service about fires and their consequences.

- We have had conversations in our classes about the seriousness of this as well as conversations with individual students and guardians, says Cecilia Binbach.

More break hosts and camera surveillance

In an attempt to increase security and safety at the school, more of the staff have been break hosts.

Surveillance cameras have also been set up as a temporary solution in an initial phase.

- The goal is to get a more permanent solution with more cameras.

But this was a good and quick solution in the emergency situation that arose, says Cecilia Binbach.
