Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The world's largest online retailer Amazon is building a new distribution center in Schwerin.
The state capital announced on Wednesday that the main committee had given the go-ahead for the sale of a property in the Schwerin industrial park.
A company spokesman confirmed the plans.
According to the city, the distribution center is to open in autumn 2022, 130 jobs are to be created as a result, at peak times there are 190 jobs.
The company is investing 22 million euros in the new building, which has a usable area of 8,000 square meters.
According to Amazon, this will expand capacities in the region and offer faster delivery options.
