A 13-year-old minor was

seriously injured Tuesday night after receiving several stab wounds after being attacked by a group of young people

on a street in the Carabanchel district.

The events occurred around 9:00 p.m. in a garden area located at the confluence of Calle Belmonte de Tajo and Calle Agustín Rodríguez Bonar, a spokesperson for Emergencias Madrid has informed Europa Press.

The first indications and testimonies collected in the place point to the fact that the minor was assaulted by a group of young people who came to the area armed with sticks and machetes, according to police sources informed Europa Press.

After being stabilized in the place by health workers from the Samur-Civil Protection, he has been transferred with notice to the Children's Hospital of La Paz, where he has been admitted with a serious prognosis, according to a spokesperson for Emergencias Madrid.

National Police officers have come to the scene, who have taken over the investigation to try to determine the specific circumstances in which the attack occurred.
