02 February 2021 The alleged responsible for the murder of Sonia Di Maggio, the 29-year-old stabbed last night in Minervino di Lecce while she was in the company of her boyfriend, was captured this morning.

This is the ex-boyfriend of the young woman, a 39-year-old from Torre Annunziata (Naples).

He would have been stopped by the agents of the Otranto police station, while on foot he was trying to reach a vehicle with which to get away from Salento. 





Sonia Di Maggio was stabbed to death in Specchia Gallone, a hamlet of Minervino di Lecce.

According to what was reconstructed by the investigators, the woman allegedly had a discussion with her ex-partner, a man living in Campania who came to the small town of Salento for a sort of settling of accounts.

After a violent discussion, it seems that the man has stabbed some stabs at the 29-year-old reached in vital parts.

113 and 118 arrived on the spot, but when the doctors arrived there was nothing more to be done.

The killer fled on foot and is now being sought by the police.

Sonia Di Maggio, originally from Rimini, seems to have moved to start a new life after a difficult relationship.




"My son called me to tell me mom run, that Sonia is bleeding, they are stabbing her. I asked 'but who?'. And he said 'I don't know mom, her ex', I thought she was joking. Then I got here. with my other son and I found her dead. "

The mother of Sonia Di Maggio's new boyfriend, the 29-year-old stabbed to death tonight in the street in Specchia Gallone, told reporters about the victim's former partner, currently wanted.


       The lady explained that it was her son who called "the carabinieri and the rescue services" and said that the son had gone out with Sonia because she had asked him to go shopping.

"I sent my son to the grocery store and they went out, as they always did. His ex took her from behind, they didn't even notice. I know that she covered my son for him," the said. woman referring to the victim and telling that the ex-partner of the 29-year-old "had threatened them that he was making the massacre, that he was killing them both".
