• Controversy: Shock in the Consell for the administration of the second dose to those who skipped the vaccination

The Minister of Health, Ana Barceló, has unveiled this Monday the report of

the Bioethics Committee of the Valencian Community

, which was consulted to decide what to do with the second dose of all those who sneaked into the vaccination process to get the first dose irregularly.

The sentence could not be clearer: they must receive that second dose, albeit later than usual.

The conclusion also goes against what the president of the Generalitat himself,

Ximo Puig,

had ordered

, who had stated that all these people should not receive the second dose

that would immunize them against the coronavirus.

However, they will have to receive it in the opinion of the Bioethics Committee, although "six weeks after the first dose, which is the maximum period set by the World Health Organization for the second dose of Pfizer," according to Barceló.

In addition, this second dose will be produced only when the groups included in the vaccination strategy have been eliminated.

The councilor, in addition, has ensured that, in any case, all these people will be sanctioned, although she has not clarified with what consequences.

There are a total of

62 people -after 233 cases were investigated-

, including 10 public positions (nine mayors and councilors and the chief prosecutor of Castellón).

There has even been the case of public officials who "self-included" in the vaccination lists that Public Health had to authorize.

The conclusion of the Department, which has also investigated its staff for administering vaccines irregularly, is that 171 cases were justified because they were in the following vaccination groups or because they had a justified risk.

Barceló wanted to highlight that these irregular vaccinations account for only 0.046% of the total vaccines administered.

"It does not cloud the process," he assured, to confirm that, if the current vaccination rate is followed,

300,000 Valencians may be vaccinated in March

.
