In 6 of the country's 21 regions, vaccination plans are affected by the reduced inflow of vaccine doses to Sweden.

It shows a review of the county administrative boards' latest reports to the Government Offices that SVT has done.

"The vaccine shortage is now the cause of a slower pace than planned.

The capacity is there, but there is no vaccine ", writes the county administrative board in Örebro.

Several regions, just like Örebro, testify that it is the lack of vaccine that makes up for it and that they would have the opportunity to vaccinate more people if only the vaccine came as planned.

“The vaccination rate is low due to the low vaccine allocation.

The vaccine doses are not enough to vaccinate new people, ”states the County Administrative Board of Jämtland, which must therefore prioritize giving those who have already received their first dose the second dose within the right time.

In Skåne, the shortage has led to the forced vaccination of certain priority care staff.

"It is extremely unfortunate, but in the situation we are in, we must prioritize the most fragile first," says regional director Alf Jönsson according to a press release.

More information is requested

Västra Götaland has also suffered from concerns due to the fact that they received a smaller amount of vaccine than was first promised.

Therefore, they have flagged that people in phase two, those who are 70 years and older, can wait longer than planned.

In several regions, there is a great need for clearer information about when more vaccines are expected.

Region Halland states that so far they have not received a delivery plan for how often the vaccine will be delivered, which makes their planning more difficult.

"It is very important that we get this soon," they write.

At the same time, frustration increases.

In Gävleborg, people have tried to lead the queue with false information and in Östergötland, the county administrative board requests credible, accessible and correct information from a national level as the risk of rumors and misinformation is considered high.
