Görlitz (dpa / sn) - Early Tuesday morning, a 48-year-old man suffered serious injuries in an accident on the motorway between Eisenach and Gotha.
For reasons that have not yet been clarified, the driver came off the lane while cutting in after an overtaking maneuver and crashed into two trees, according to the police.
The 48-year-old was trapped in the vehicle and rescued by the rescue workers.
The police were initially unable to provide any information about the driver's condition.
The road was closed for a few hours.
The damage caused amounts to 25,000 euros.
