Bremen / Augsburg (dpa) - Several German start-up companies are currently developing small launch vehicles to transport satellites into low-earth orbit.
The dates for the first launches of the so-called microlauncher are planned for the end of 2021 or 2022.
At the forefront are Rocket Factory Augsburg AG, which belongs to the Bremen space group OHB, Isar Aerospace Technologies GmbH and HyImpulse Technologies GmbH.
All three take part in the microlauncher competition of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), which is about funding with a double-digit million euro amount.
In the first main round, eleven million euros will be awarded.
A decision will be made at the end of April.
