Eisenach (dpa / th) - In Eisenach, a city council meeting was interrupted and finally postponed because eight MPs did not want to wear a mouth and nose cover.
The city administration announced that four city councils from the AfD and four NPD refused to use masks during the city parliament's session on Tuesday evening, despite repeated requests.
Finally, a majority decided to expel the refusing city councilors.
The four AfD representatives complied with the request to leave the meeting, but not the four NPD city councilors.
Eisenach justified the mask requirement during the meeting, among other things, with the occurrence of the British mutation of the coronavirus in the region.
The city council meeting will be rescheduled as soon as possible, the administration said.
