Erfurt (dpa / th) - Thuringia's Justice Minister Dirk Adams (Greens) wants to present his plans for convening a Corona Citizens' Council today (1 p.m.).

According to Adams, the committee should advise the state government, among other things, on where corona rules have proven themselves in everyday life and where not.

"The project serves the dialogical citizen participation and should contribute to strengthening representative democracy, especially in the exceptional pandemic situation," said Adams in advance.

The advisory board should include randomly selected Thuringians.

A few days ago it became known that the Citizens' Council will likely cost a five-figure sum this year.

The citizens' advisory council should be organized and supervised by an external service provider, it said in the draft of a cabinet proposal.

For this, up to 200,000 euros would have to be made available in the current year's budget.

Where the money should come from was not clear at the end of the day.
