Lüdenscheid (dpa / lnw) - In a bus in Lüdenscheid in the Sauerland, a passenger completely freaked out on Monday, smashed a window and tore the driver's cab door from its anchorage.
The extremely excited 42-year-old was admitted to a psychiatric ward by a doctor, the police said on Tuesday after the incident in the Märkischer Kreis.
Shortly before reaching the stop, he smashed a side window with an emergency hammer.
The bus driver let the passengers get off and informed the police.
Then the man attacked the driver and tore out the glass cabin door.
According to the information, he suffered significant cuts.
The police overcame him between the seats.
He also tried to eat his mouth and nose protection and spat at the officers.
Nothing is known about the background to the anger attack.
