Hahn (dpa) - After the announced bankruptcy of the Chinese airport Hahn main owner, the People's Republic is trying to calm the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

According to information from the Chinese Consulate General in Frankfurt, the HNA corporation is not about to go bankrupt, but rather to restructure, the Ministry of the Interior in Mainz informed the German press agency on Tuesday.

The announced realignment of HNA will therefore have no impact on the operation of the Hunsrück airport.

According to the Interior Ministry, Consul General SUN Congbin wrote that "at the moment" nothing will change in the way Hahn Airport works with all airlines, customers, authorities and other partners.

HNA announced that it had filed for bankruptcy last Friday.

Creditors applied for the realignment of the heavily indebted corporation.

Hunsrück Airport Hahn is 82.5 percent owned by HNA and 17.5 percent by the state of Hesse.

Last Friday the Hahn management tried to reassure its workforce with similar words in one of the letters available to the dpa.

At the dpa request, she did not initially comment.
