Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - After the open exchange between Education Minister Susanne Eisenmann (CDU) and her health colleague Manne Lucha (Greens) about daycare centers and the corona test strategy, Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann intervened.

"I managed to structure it," said the Green politician on Tuesday in Stuttgart.

He was confident that it would be possible to expand the test options at daycare centers and primary schools in the event of an opening after the corona lockdown.

"That will work."

At the press conference with his fellow party member Lucha, Kretschmann was clearly trying to prevent his minister from adding more fuel to the fire.

We will talk about it together, said Kretschmann.

"But please not here, Minister."

Lucha then said that he would not repeat that an incidence of 25 would actually be necessary for daycare centers and primary schools to open.

It is clear, however, that the value for new infections in the past seven days per 100,000 inhabitants must be below 50 before any relaxation.

This was also confirmed by Kretschmann: "Under 50, you can begin to debate sensible opening strategies."

Eisenmann, who is urging that daycare centers and elementary schools be opened quickly, reacted angrily last week in particular to Lucha's demand for a restriction of emergency care: "Families are particularly affected by the restrictions of the Corona measures," she said and added: "It is therefore irritating that Family Minister Lucha misjudges the realities of life in families."

In addition, Eisenmann had reproached her ministerial colleague for not offering enough Corona test options, especially for teachers and educators, but also for professional groups such as police officers or supermarket cashiers.

Lucha then offered to make quick tests available at short notice for the remaining staff in emergency care from the country's emergency reserve.

Eisenmann then has to organize that so that tests are also carried out.
