It was found that the damage to the agriculture, forestry and fisheries industry due to the heavy snowfall this winter amounted to about 8.9 billion yen in 27 prefectures, mainly in Hokuriku and Tohoku, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries repaired the broken agricultural house. We have decided on support measures such as subsidizing the expenses required to do so.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, damage such as damage to agricultural houses and collapse of fruit trees was reported in 27 prefectures centered on Hokuriku and Tohoku by the 1st due to heavy snowfall from mid-December last year. The amount of damage to the agriculture, forestry and fisheries industry is about 8.9 billion yen.

In response to this, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries opened a countermeasures headquarters on the 2nd and decided on future support measures.

According to the report, the government will subsidize up to 30% of the cost of repairing or removing a broken agricultural house, as well as the cost of replanting fallen fruit trees.

In addition, as the houses that grow seedlings collapsed one after another until the time of rice planting, the cost of purchasing new seeds and seedlings was subsidized by up to half, and the seedlings were accommodated in the areas damaged by the surrounding facilities. We will also support transportation costs when doing so.

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Nogami said, "By cooperating with prefectures and municipalities, we would like to reduce the burden on agriculture, forestry and fishermen, continue reliable management, and resume operations as soon as possible."
