Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Hamburg's Interior Senator Andy Grote (SPD) and Police President Ralf Martin Meyer present the crime statistics for the past year on Tuesday (12.30 p.m.).

It is expected that crime has also decreased because of the corona measures.

Above all, the number of break-ins and pickpockets has decreased, according to a preliminary assessment by the police at the end of the year.

In 2019, the Hamburg police counted almost 211,000 offenses, 3.6 percent less than in the previous year.

According to Police President Meyer, that was the lowest level since 1981.

At the same time, the clearance rate had improved slightly, from 45.8 to 46.7 percent.
