Manschnow (dpa / bb) - Brandenburg horticultural companies and flower shops are waiting for the lockdown to end.

"We wish that we can work normally again after February 15 and bring our goods to the customer," said the President of the Berlin-Brandenburg Horticultural Association, Klaus Henschel.

After the companies had already missed the business with poinsettias and lucky pots at the end of the year, the sales that were achieved on Valentine's Day on February 14th were now also missing.

Traditionally, horticultural companies and florists do good business with bouquets, flower arrangements and flowering pots.

Spring bloomers are currently growing for planting window boxes and bowls.

If the goods can then also not be sold because of further Corona sales restrictions, only the compost will remain, said Andreas Jende, Managing Director of the Berlin-Brandenburg Horticultural Association.

"That would be another economic disaster for the companies."
